the book of john is a unique and powerful gospel written one primary reason: that we may believe jesus is the christ, the son of god, and that by believing we may have life in his name (joh 20:31).

unlike the other gospels, john doesn’t focus mainly on the chronology of events. instead, he reveals the identity of jesus- his divinity, his heart, and his mission. john presents jesus not only as the promised messiah, but as god in the flesh, the savior who came to bring eternal life.
